Barbra Streisand is catching some heat online after publicly grilling Melissa McCarthy about Ozempic.

Ozempic, which is a type 2 diabetes medication, has become a trending topic on social media due to several well-known celebrities like Oprah, Kelly Osbourne, Rebel Wilson, and Emily Simpson attributing their dramatic weight transformations to the drug.

The drug is prescribed to manage blood glucose levels though it is now being used as an appetite suppressant by those who want to lose weight.

According to Diabetes.org, people who use it can lose weight while using the medication due to its ability to "reduce your appetite so you eat less," while simultaneously "slowing down the movement of food in your gut meaning you stay full for longer."

McCarthy, 53, took to Instagram on Monday (April 29) to share some pictures of herself and her friend Adam Shankman at the Centre Theatre Group's annual gala in Los Angeles.

The actress showcased her incredible figure in a beautiful pastel-green dress and matching blazer.

Captioning the post, the Gilmore Girls star wrote: "Pastels only to honor the incredible @matthewbourne13 at the @ctgla gala last night with this fella @adamshankman !! Thiiiiis much closer to my dream of dancing on stage."

Plenty of fans complimented the star's incredible look.

"I love this outfit on you! Love the green, love the ruffles & tiers, and I LOVE the lower neckline! It’s nice to see you branching out in a different way. You look beautiful!" one user wrote.

Another said: "Wow you look absolutely stunning," while a third added: "I love this dress it’s so different from what you normally wear especially the color it looks amazing on you as everything does!"

The 82-year-old EGOT winner quickly faced backlash for her question as one person said: "What happened to not [talking] about Bodies! As a mother of a daughter that’s not ok we as women need to not focus on appearance," per Daily Mail.

A second chimed in: "Why is it that people that haven’t had obesity care so much - what does it matter Barbara? If she has or hasn’t it’s not your concern. @barbrastreisand you’re old enough to know better - and even if it was meant to be a DM - still rude!"

A third remarked: "Barbara, if you don’t have something nice to say…." while a fourth added: "I’m so totally taken aback that you could ask her that on Social Media for all to see? I love and adore you, truly, but that disappointed me."

The Heat star has had a lot of weight fluctuations over the years.

She lost 70 pounds in 2003 after undergoing an all-liquid diet for her part in the iconic sitcom Gilmore Girls.

McCarthy opened up about the experience to PEOPLE, revealing: "I'd never do that again. I felt starved and crazy half the time."

She also told the publication in a recent interview she managed to find self-acceptance in her 30s, explaining: "Somewhere in my 30s, I was like 'I'm okay with who I am'. And if someone wasn't thrilled with that, that's okay too."

"At some point, I was like, 'They're not all going to like you.' You have to learn that the hard way, but it's a good [lesson]," she said.
