Country star Alli Walker decided to neck a beer from a dead fish at an NHL game and people have been left grossed out.

Look, during my time at university, I downed some drinks from questionable receptacles... But I can safely say that a fish was never used.

Well, Canadian country singer Alli Walker stunned audiences during a recent Nashville Predators NHL Playoffs game against the Vancouver Canucks for doing exactly that.

Walker, 30, caused a stir as she fearlessly took part in a swiftly growing ritual at the Predators' Bridgestone Arena stadium.

In the footage, Walker is seen pouring Budweiser into the fish's mouth before gulping down the drink herself.

As you probably would after making out with a fish, she let out an almighty roar which was met with cheers from the crowd.

Despite the positive reaction from the crowd, people took to social media to make their thoughts known, and not everyone was impressed.

"This is actually disgusting," one person tweeted, while a second said: "Yeah that sucks."

Though it seems like Walker found her audience on Instagram, most of whom thought what she did was awesome.

One person said: "You’re everywhere this morning … and every Predators fan’s new hero! Way to steal the show!"

A second added: "You were awesome! My daughter loved your music and you definitely did your part to get the crowd pumped."

The stunt also served as a promotional platform for Walker's new single, 'CREEK,' featuring the fitting lyrics: "Catch you like a catfish."

This unconventional act isn't entirely unprecedented, as celebrities have previously taken the stage at the arena to partake in similar rituals, as reported by News.com.au.

Tennessee Titans star Taylor Lewan notably went viral for his participation in 2018.

The catfish holds a longstanding tradition within the NHL franchise, reportedly dating back to the 1950s.

Originating from the Detroit Red Wings tradition of tossing an octopus onto the ice, symbolizing the need for eight playoff wins to secure the Stanley Cup, the catfish has become a semi-regular fixture at Nashville home games.

Other stars have drank booze from weird places before - such as Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo who took a drink of champagne out of his sweaty shoe after winning a race.

Whatever floats your boat, I suppose.
