A woman's ex-boyfriend has divided social media after he gave her a "gift" shortly after she dumped him.

Now, no one likes being broken up with, right? It's such an awkward and uncomfortable experience, especially if you still have feelings for the other person.

While there could be multiple questions going through your mind at the time of the dumping - "Was it my fault?", "Could I have been a better partner?", "What about the dog?" amongst a whole bunch of other things - the last thing on your mind would be getting the dumper a gift.

However, this one man decided that after being broken up with after a seven-year relationship, he wanted to gift his ex-girlfriend a little something to remember him by, and let's just say the internet is completely divided over it.

Taking to TikTok, a user who goes by the handle @self_daily_love, AKA Rachel, decided to post a video showing the "gift" her ex-boyfriend gave to her.

Tucked into a red bag with pink hearts all over it, the 30-second clip shows Rachel pulling out a pink package wrapped in tissue paper.

Inside it lay a note that read: "I know you don't love me anymore. Love yourself now. Kev."

Behind the note lay a book titled 'Fall in Love With Yourself' by Angel Gaudia which is supposed to be "the ultimate guide of self-empowerment and self-love."

Since the video was posted on the platform a few days ago, it has already been viewed a whopping 15.4 million times and continues to grow in comments every single day with users suggesting what Rachel should do with the so-called gift.

"We all want you to burn his gift," wrote one user.

"Can’t tell if it’s manipulation or actual genuineness," added another while this user seemingly agreed, writing: "This gotta be manipulation."

And this TikToker suggested that he only gave her the gift to "hurt" her: "Why do I kinda feel like he only did that to hurt you.. He wanted you to regret your decision bc he's such a 'good person.'"

Others also fanned the flames, with this user suggesting something must have happened for her to dump him after being together for seven whole years.

"Y’all if she dumped him after SEVEN years, obviously either something happened or something has BEEN happening for 7 long years..."

However, not everyone was convinced that it was a bad idea.

"RUN RIGHT BACK, AFTER YOU READ THE BOOK," commented this user while another added: "Y’all broke up for a reason and him wishing you the best is such a mature thing to do and grow I love that for you!"

And this social media user stated: "Damn I'd go back with him."

In a follow-up video, Rachel confirmed that she had, in fact, "burned the gift he gave me in my car."

In the comments, some people suggested that she should "now leave it on his doorstep."

Savage. But agreed.
