A woman has received an outpouring of support from social media users after bravely opening up about how her date "sped off" in his car as he approached her for a date.

Now, the dating game can be a tricky one. Meeting a total stranger for the first time can be a daunting experience for many - but both sides are just hoping it goes well and everybody has a good time. However, there are times when two people just don't hit it off and romance is off the table.

But even if that is the case, there are things you do and there are things you don't do - and treating your date with respect should always be a top priority. Sadly, that's not how this woman was treated.

Sharing her dating disaster with her 34,000 TikTok followers, user @samanthaleanne999 captioned her post: "Is it just me that suffers? How embarrassing. But putting it out there anyway."

In the video, Samantha - from Yorkshire, England - starts by saying: "When you're absolutely done with the whole dating thing." Check out her first video below:

She then revealed she had a bowling date planned with a guy for the last week, before explaining: "He was coming to pick me up. He was a little bit late, so I waited outside.

"He says, 'right, I'm pulling up.' I go to get in the car and he speeds off... Speeds off... Off he goes. Leaves me there - no explanation, no nothing. Imagine how you'd feel after that... because I feel f***ing s**t."

Over the top of the video - which has since amassed over 2.4 million views - Samantha included captions such as "Who does this to someone?" and "What the f*** is wrong with me?"

However, after bravely putting her story out there, Samantha's followers were determined to make sure she knew that nothing was wrong with her, flooding her with praise and insisting that she had "dodged a bullet".

Samantha even received support from UK TV star Scarlett Moffatt, who commented: "Girl you're beautiful. You have kind eyes and sound very intelligent. It's his loss. Don't give up".

A second commented: "Babe you dodged a bullet! his loss, while you gain an opportunity to find someone better than him. Feel sorry for his next girl [sic]".

Another TikTok user wrote: "[If] he could do that just imagine what kind of person he would be in a relationship."

"My husband says he was no man but a boy. Don't give up," replied a fourth.

In response to the torrent of love and support, Samantha posted a follow-up video thanking everybody for their kind comments.

"I just want to say thank you to everybody who's been in touch," she said, adding: "Thank you again for everybody who has shown support [...] in a world where you can be anything, be kind."

We couldn't have put it better ourselves! And we wish Samantha the very best in the future.
