People have been left horrified after a woman revealed that she let her child draw on the floors of her home.

Now, TikTok is filled with lots of unique parenting tips, but this might be one of the most controversial ones we've ever heard of.

This one mom from Arizona admitted that she lets her two-year-old draw on the floors of her home because "it heals her inner child."

"Healing my inner child is letting my two-year-old color on the kitchen floor while I'm cooking," Kira Osuna wrote in a text overlay of a video showing red and blue marks all over the floorboards in her rental home. "She asked me first and I said yes."

Have a look at the video below:

She continued: "She tried to ask if she could color on the cabinet and I said no and she listened. She knows this is only allowed right here. But she had the most fun and it can all be cleaned."

Osuna captioned the viral TikTok video: "Trying to give her the happiest childhood."

Since it was posted on the platform back in November 2023, the clip has been viewed over 389,000 times, with hundreds of comments from other social media users debating whether it was a good parenting move.

"It’s not healing anything other than letting your kid boss you around. This is what’s wrong with kids parents are trying to be their friend," wrote one user.

"My inner child wasn't ruined because I couldn't color on the floor. I get what you're trying to do tho," added another, to which Osuna replied: "My inner child wasn’t ruined because I couldn’t draw on the floor, it was ruined because if I did I would’ve been screamed at. Cuz kids weren't allowed to make messes."

"What a joke," a third stated.

However, not everyone was as negative about the art, with many commending the mom for letting her child express themself.

"I think it’s great. It’s your home and your life and it’s great to encourage creativity! Hope it’s easy to clean. I’d probably allow it as well," this TikToker wrote while another added: "Giving my kids a safe space to be themselves is the best thing I can give to my inner child."

And this person even had a suggestion for Osuna, writing: "You know what would be cool - designate a wall in ur house to tape on giant paper and that can be the coloring wall."

Osuna also wrote that her daughter has "boundaries."

"She knows she’s only allowed to do it right here and she has to clean up afterwards," she added.

In a follow-up video showing clean wooden floors, the TikTok mom decided to clarify a few things, especially after seeing some backlash about her previous post.

"My child had fun and was also responsible enough to clean it up herself," she wrote when replying to the comment that talked about her being "bossed around" by her own kid.

"For everyone panicking with my last post, floor is all clean and it took a full one minute to mop," Osuna said in another text overlay. "Oh yeah, and my two-year-old is the one who cleaned it."

Speaking to TODAY in an interview after the backlash, Osuna explained the reasons behind why she allows her child to do something a lot of parents would be against.

"My dad often said no and my mom was good at saying yes, as long as no one was harmed," Osuna told the outlet. "Seeing both viewpoints made me realize the benefits of saying yes.

"I’d rather foster my daughter’s creativity and instill confidence while she’s safely exploring the world at home, and with the consequence of cleaning up. It’s a teachable moment.

"People are acting like I handed my daughter a steak knife," she also added. "I think people fear what they don’t understand."
