Motocross star Jayden 'Jayo' Archer tragically lost his life at the age of 27 during a training run.

The motocross community is mourning the loss of the promising Australian rider who is known for being the first to successfully land a triple backflip at the Nitro World Games in Brisbane in November 2022.

According to ESPN, Archer died on February 21 while practicing the same risky maneuver that made him famous during training in Melbourne, Australia.

Nitro Circus, an action sports media brand that Archer was part of for 10 years, paid an emotional tribute to the rider on Instagram.

Read the tribute post below:

The brand, which was started by Travis Pastrana, penned under a black and white picture of Archer: "The Nitro Circus family is mourning the loss of Jayo Archer. Jayo was the epitome of passion, hard work & determination.

"He pushed what was possible on a dirt bike to heights never seen before. A positive influence to those around him. And above all else a great human being and friend to us all," they said. "Sending our thoughts and love to Jayo’s family and friends. We love you mate. Ride in peace"

Many fans took to the comment section to express condolences to the late sports star's family and share their memories with him.

One user wrote: "Jay’s bigger than life spirit will be fueling me this year. Sending loving vibes to everyone that knew him!"

Another said: "Met him twice. Had the pleasure of getting coached by him at a riding clinic with Oates mx. I wasn't the fastest kid there by a long shot but he made me feel like I was kicking a** with his encouragement and pointers. Rest in peace legend you're gonna be missed by so many."

A third commented: "Legend! Went out doing what he loved. RIP My condolences to his family."

The motocross community also expressed their grief at Archer’s death.

"Jayo lit up every room he walked into with his energy and his good values," fellow rider, Harry Bink, wrote in a post on Instagram. "He wasn’t scared of much and I really admire him for it. I first met Jayo as a teenager and we had a lot of mad times over the years as mates as well as competitors.

"I don’t think even Jayo even knows how much we are all going to miss him," he continued. "Very proud to have met Jayo, been a part of his life and his outgoing mindset."

Archer obtained a sponsorship deal with Powersports Kawasaki in 2011 at the age of 15, after becoming the youngest person on record to land a motorcycle backflip over 75ft. He was a medallist at the X Games in 2023 and was one of only three people known to have performed the triple backflip, per The Guardian.

After landing the trick in November 2022, the late motocross star remarked: "I cannot describe this feeling. This is so much more than a trick to me. I’ve dedicated my entire life the last three years, to this moment. There were a lot of obstacles and broken bones and knockouts, and I would do it 100 times over to relive that moment again."

After the interview, he took the microphone, knelt on one knee, and proposed to his girlfriend, Beth King, who was standing nearby. The couple was engaged to be married this year.

Nitro Circus founder Travis Pastrana posted an Instagram video of Archer's renowned triple backflip in tribute to his late friend. After sticking that historic landing, the late rider hopped off his bike, and with his arms triumphantly raised, ran to his crewmates in celebration.

"Thank you for the memories friend," Pastrana said in a statement. "Thank you for being such a great human and positive role model for all of us. #godspeed #legendsneverdie."
